A 1930s, lithographed, metal biscuit tin from the world famous Scottish company McVitie & Price. Second-hand.
What's for sale?
This is a 1930s, lithographed, metal biscuit tin made in England for the Scottish food maker McVitie & Price. Their digestive biscuits were extremely popular and still are today, well at least in our house.
This size and shape of tin was introduced earlier in the century with more yellow around the sides and edges. The royal crest and wording in the top left hand corner suggests it was made during the period 1936 to 1952, the reign of King George VI of the United Kingdom.
There is an excellent example in the V & A museum in London.
