What's for sale?
This is a small, handmade model of a Triplane. The fuselage is an old spark plug, which has been welded to other bits of scrap metal to form the wings, propeller and undercarriage.
This is a nice example of spark plug art, which is usually created by bored welders on quiet days. Most of the spark plug aeroplanes that we see are biplanes, so this is a little more unusual. The Triplane is famously linked to Manfred von Richthofen, the Red Baron, the legendary pilot of the Imperial German Army Air Service during the First World War.
