An engraved, Birmingham-made, Sterling silver bangle. Second-hand.
What's for sale?
This is a 1950s solid silver bangle or bracelet with a very nice, engraved pattern of contrasting polished and shaded leaf design, called "Felicity" and manufactured under the Excalibur tradename. The sale includes the original box.
Who made it and when?
There are two sets of marks:
- H.S. LTD
- An anchor (the symbol for the Birmingham assay office)
- A Lion Passant (the sterling silver mark)
- A "k" (which style matches 1959)
and on the other half:
- Another Lion Passant
- Another "k"
- "Felicity" in an italic script
We can't trace the H.S. Ltd but during the 1960s, Excalibur was a Birmingham-based maker for Harrods; H.S. Ltd may stand for Harrods Stores.
What condition is it in?
- Second-hand
- In good condition
- The chain is still attached
- The fastener works well
What are the measurements?
- 6.5cm to 7cm in diameter
- 2cm wide
