This is a pair of hand-carved wooden bird bookends.

The carving is non-naturalistic and Art Deco in style and they've been finished in a dark wood stain. The beaks have had less treatment and are lighter in colour.

The bases are covered in red felt and their eyes appear to be glass.

They were probably made in the 1930s or 1940s.

  • The finish has aged but they've probably never looked better
