This is an early 20th Century, French glass soda siphon in a rare orange or peach-coloured glass.
The thick glass body is ribbed vertically and etched on the front are the words: "Eaux Gazeuses, Daure Fils, 68 Rue de Gravelotte, Bordeaux"
The metal cap is engraved with "Lefebvre & Gaultier St Malo". The internal glass tube is intact.
Siphons were used globally in cafes, bars and hotels, particularly during the first half of the 20th century. They were designed to be reusable and tended to have a hard life. Made in large numbers, they often carried the supplier's branding. They're collectable for their branding and as decorative objects, especially in coloured glass.
What condition is it in?
