What's for sale?
This is the Swatch unisex, "Time to Move" watch. It's an automatic movement watch designed for their 1991 Autumn and Winter collection, model number SAK102.
It's also known as "Earth Summit"; it was released to celebrate the United Nations Earth Summit conference in Rio de Janeiro in June 1992.
The front and back of the case have an open design which exposes the movement beautifully. Around the dial is a narrow, black band with "IN OUR HANDS EARTH SUMMIT 92" in gold-coloured script. Printed in green on the crystal, is the conference logo, a hand cradling the earth. Printed on the back of the watch is a white globe.
The hands, including the sweep second hand, are gold-coloured. The hour and minute hands are luminous. The strap is made from a pliable, ribbed, green plastic with clear buckle.
Automatic watches wind themselves when you wear them, using your body's movement. Should you wear them enough, you'll probably need to wind them by hand to keep them energized. Automatic watches usually have a clutch to prevent over-winding, so you may feel resistance when winding. If it has wound down completely try, for a dozen winds of the crown. The winder mechanism can also become stiff over time.
