What's for sale?
This is a set of four high-quality, cut-to-clear, lead crystal wine glasses in four well-matched colours.
They are tall and have an intricate, fan pattern of cuts around the bowl with circles above. The stems are notched and faceted and the feet have been decorated with wheel and slice cuts. The are probably by Ajka of Hungary, but we haven't yet identified the pattern.
They're lighter than some lead crystal glasses, which suggests a lower lead content.
Cut-to clear describes the technique of layering coloured glass over clear glass and then cutting the pattern to reveal the clear glass beneath.
