What's for sale?
This is a signed, collar necklace of green glass rhinestones by the collectable American costume jewellery maker Weiss.
The square, table-cut stones are paired in gold-coloured prong settings, each connected via a single, small link. It sits comfortably and flat on the neck.
Who made it and when?
The back is stamped:
Albert Weiss was a former designer with Coro, another well-known American costume jewellery manufacturer. He formed Weiss in 1942 and it operated until 1971.
All Weiss pieces after 1943 are marked "Weiss", "Albert Weiss" or "AW Co." so we're unable to date this more precisely.
What condition is it in?
