This is a large, green jug made from Vaseline glass, also known as uranium glass.
It has been cleverly shaped to show off the bright green colour in the glass as the different angles meet. It has a multi-faceted base, a narrower waist with sloping shoulder, and then two stepped rings above, which reduce the diameter of the neck.
Uranium glass is so called because of the minuscule inclusion of Uranium Dioxide during manufacture. It's harmless and no more radioactive that than most other things in our homes; the glow under UV light is a chemical reaction.
It was probably made in the first half of the 20th century, as uranium glass hasn't generally been made since the 1950s. This jug's fluorescence under UV light has been tested as shown.
