Vintage, early 20th century oval Green Dragon platter

This is a large, oval shaped platter by Staffordshire pottery Booths, in their green "Dragon" pattern. At 40cm, it is just under 16 inches in length.

The design is a repeating pattern in dark green, of an oriental-styled dragon separated by floral details. Below this, around the inside of the bowl, is an intricate, banded pattern. The Dragon pattern was also available in dark blue, and was available on a variety of tableware like plates, tureens and gravy boats.

Platters are a stylish way to present food and ideal for Christmas dinner. Old china tableware can continue to be used and enjoyed, but shouldn't be put in a dishwasher or left immersed in hot water. Wash by hand with warm water and washing-up liquid.
