What's for sale?

This is an elegantly-shaped and stylishly-decorated, Staffordshire coffee pot in Royal Cauldon's  "Victoria" pattern.

The Victoria pattern is a pretty and colourful transfer design, finished with gold-coloured highlighting on the rim. Major pieces, like this coffee pot, also feature hand painted decoration, such as is found on the handle, the lid and under the spout. The lid even has a top shaped like a flower bud. This is a popular range of tableware and is becoming quite collectable.

Who made it and when?

The maker's mark underneath indicates that it was made after 1950. It reads:

  • Royal Cauldon
  • A crown and Est. 1774
  • Made in England
  • "Victoria"

What condition is it in?

  • Second-hand
  • In fair to good condition
  • The colours are strong and bright
  • The gold-coloured rim has some wear
  • There is a hairline crack on the bottom of the lid as shown. While invisible with the lid on, it can be felt with the finger nail
  • The pot is otherwise undamaged

What are the measurements?

  • 19cm high
  • 18.5cm spout to handle
  • 492 grams
