What's for sale?
This is a set of five, cut-to-clear, crystal liqueur glasses in multiple colours. They were hand made by the renowned Belgian glass maker Val St. Lambert and cut in their Berncastel pattern.
The Berncastel pattern is a cut which shows high quality workmanship. Alternating around the bowl are foliage and crosshatch panels of various sizes. Below is a faceted stem, a faceted knop and a foot with a radiating pattern of straight cuts. This pattern was introduced around 1959 and has been out of production for some time.
Cut-to clear describes the technique of layering coloured glass over clear glass and then cutting a pattern to reveal the clear glass beneath.
