What's for sale?
This is a Woods Ware trio of teacup, saucer and plate, made by Wood & Sons and decorated in their "Balmoral" design, similar to their "Osborne" pattern and various, so-called "Gaudy Welsh" patterns of the time.
The maker's mark dates it between 1917 and 1930 and reads:
- balmoral
- Woods Ware
- Enoch 1784
- Ralph 1750
- Wood & Sons
- England
We like using non-identical, but similar trios to make up a tea set. They're more interesting to use than a completely matching service and you can always swap over what's in the set.
What condition is it in?
- Second-hand
- Very good condition
- No chips or cracks
What are the measurements?
- The cup is 6cm high and 8cm diameter
- The saucer is 2cm high and 14cm diameter
- The plate is 1.5cm high and 17cm diameter
- 395 grams in total
