Green and Yellow Perrier Bottle Cap Ashtray

A ceramic, green and yellow Perrier 'bottle cap' ashtray

This is a ceramic, branded advertising ashtray for the French mineral water brand Perrier. The green and golden-yellow matches the historical colouring of the Perrier labels while the form mimics a metal bottle cap.

This design allows the maker to do without the usual cigarette grooves, so it no longer needs to be thought of as an ashtray; it's also a pin dish and an ornament for desks and side tables.

Perrier is the world-famous French brand of carbonated mineral water from Vergèze located in the Gard department of Southern France. It's currently part of the Nestlé group. The phrase "Model déposé" means that the design and \ or trademark is registered.

• There is a small, thin patch of green glaze below the logo
