Victorian Hand Made Green Glass Claret Jug

What's for sale?

This is a handmade, green, glass, decorative  claret jug with original stopper.

It's hand blown and hand painted, with a pretty decoration of tiny, enamel flowers and gold-coloured foliage.

The faceted body steps up toward a slender neck and pourer and on top is a bulb-shaped stopper in clear glass, with gold-coloured highlights.

The applied handle is an interesting addition; it's been crimped and impressed with a radiating pattern.

We think it's Italian and from the late 19th or early 20th centuries.

What condition is it in?

• Second-hand
• In good condition
• No chips or cracks on the body
• The stopper has a chip at the bottom and also one on it's lower side

• 30cm high
• 7cm in diameter at base
• 13cm at widest point
• 595 grams
