A brief history of T G Green pottery

T.G Green was a Derbyshire earthenware manufacturer of kitchen and table ware, best known for their striped "Cornishware" (which is still made today).

  • Founded in 1864 by Thomas Goodwin Green when he bought a pottery at Gresley, Derbyshire
  • During the 1920s they introduced Cornishware in the signature Electric Blue
  • During the 1930s they introduced Streamline
  • In 1987 they were bought by Cloverleaf
  • In 2007 the Gresley factory closed and production ceased
  • In 2009 the brand was resurrected by new owners and Cornishware is now made in China
